the moral dilemna

Daily, i take a couple of government buses to get to the office. Sometimes when the distance of journey is small enough, the conductor of the bus takes the money and does not give the ticket. This is a daily happening and i see this behavior with most conductors. If i asked for a ticket and got it, then the money goes layers up to the government. But then the politicians eat it away and it does not go to the common man, which the conductor represents. But then, because of this activity, the conductor gets habituated to getting money by means that is not legal and thereby his sense of guilt further goes down while doing any such activities in the future.

Why is the conductor doing this way?

Because he feels that what money he is getting from the government is not enough.

There can be 2 causes.

1. The government is paying less wages,

but The government should be paying wages sufficient for sustenance.

2. The conductor is having desires more than what he can afford from a government salary.

This increase in desires could be because of looking around. But looking around, almost everyone who gets into the bus is from IT/BPO industry who is happily listening to songs on their mobiles. So there is a comparison that is being made.

So what we have now is
1. comparison (with those richer/poorer{money})
2. desire- needs(food,clothing and shelter) and wants(infinite)
3. satisfaction

Why did i not ask for ticket?

1. i was afraid that the conductor might get angry and did not want to get my mood spoilt early in the day.

2. i cannot communicate back with the same intensity in the language, the conductor speaks due to the fact that our mother tongues are different.

or

3. i approve the conductor's action and that means i will do the same actions in my day to day life under such circumstances.

The conductor represents any common man.

What would you do in this situation? please comment. thank you.
